Dave Mahan
Dave has been married to Lady Deb since 1979 and together they have one son, one daughter, three granddaughters, and happily claim and love their son- and daughter-in-law.
Dave spent 37 years in the tire and rubber business starting on the floor (working weekends and midnight shifts) at Continental (previously General Tire) and ended up as a retired plant manager (Bridgestone/Firestone). At BSFS he was awarded several corporate awards including four President Awards, the CEO Award, the Humanitarian Award, and an Environmental Award. He was trained in Japan and was an “Executive on Loan”, reporting to Bridgestone, Japan. After BSFS, he worked short periods for Trelleborg (Rutherfordton, NC) and Huntington Solutions (Greer, SC) as a plant manager before permanently retiring.
Dave’s Masonic journey started in Davis Lodge #51 A.F. & A.M., Keyser, WV. Initiated: July 25, 1983 – Passed: Sept. 29, 1983 – Raised: Dec. 12, 1983.
Due to work transfers, he demitted/relocated to Mt. Moriah Lodge #18 F. & A.M., Murfreesboro, TN (2000–2021). He moved his Masonic Lodge membership one last time, and demitted/relocated to Western Star Lodge #91 A.F. & A.M., Rutherfordton, NC (2021–present). He currently serves as the Sr. Warden. Scottish Rite, 32nd Degree, Valley of Charlotte, NC (1987-present).
He was made a Shriner in Hejaz Temple, Greenville, SC (1988) and became the founding and past captain of the Hejaz Hot-Wheels unit. Later he moved to Al Menah, Nashville, TN (1999) and was past president of the Murfreesboro Shrine Club, and became the founding and past captain of the Boro-Prowlers unit. He then moved to Sudan, Wilmington, NC (2005) and was a member of the Monster Trucks unit. He moved back to Al Menah (2012) and became assistant parade marshal (2014-2015). Finally, he became a member of Oasis, Charlotte, NC (2021) where he is currently a member of the Thermal Belt and Red Fez Shrine Clubs. He serves as a Roadrunner and is secretary of the Oasis Pickers Unit where he was the founding and past captain. From 2023–2025 membership vice chairman, recruitment, restoration, retention. Illustrious Sir Tim Farris appointed Dave as the 2026 Oasis Chief Aide. He is a member of the Charlotte Court #109, Royal Order of Jesters. Dave’s father and brother were also Masons and Shriners, and his son is a Mason as well.

Dave and Lady Deb are members of Grace Foothills Presbyterian Church (PCA).
Boy Scouts of America: Eagle, God & Country, Silver Beaver, Vigil, Daniel Carter Beard Masonic Scouter Award (1968-2012). Served on several council executive boards including offices of Council Vice President and Council Commissioner. He served as a member of Regional and National Staffs near the end of his service to Scouting.
Civitan International: Two-time past president, Clarksville, TN (2014) and Florence, KY (2016). Club Builder. Through these Civitan Clubs, he proudly worked with the Wounded Warrior Transition Battalion at Ft. Campbell, KY.
Dave has always enjoyed helping youth, giving back to the community in which he works/lives, and appreciates the opportunity to serve the Nobility of Oasis Shriners and our Shriners Children’s.
